Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan had a meeting with President of the Artsakh Republic Arayik Harutyunyan

During the visit to the Artsakh Republic, a wide range of issues concerning the collaboration in the sphere of productive environmental management and protection, the necessary backing from the Government of Armenia were discussed with the President. The Ministry of Environment will do its utmost to restore normal life in Artsakh.
Special attention was paid to the projects addressed to solving the problems of vital significance of our compatriots in Artsakh in the post-war period.
One of the key items on the agenda of the Minister's visit to the Artsakh Republic was the release of the Rainbow Trout into Sarsang Reservoir.
Minister Petrosyan and  Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Artsakh Republic Hayk Khanumyan released the first batch of fish into the reservoir.
Rainbow Trout is a fairly highly resistant fish species, and studies have shown that due to the presence of "micro-plankton" and the water temperature in Sarsang reservoir, presently it is  the best period for releasing fish fry.
 All this is done for the full restoration of life in the country for the sake of the people of Artsakh. In 1-2 years we will already have a fairly representative population of fish, which may provide food for our compatriots in Artsakh.
Within the framework of the issue of forest resource restoration, in the upcoming weeks, with the assistance of the Ministry of Environment, the establishment of a 1-hectare forest tree nursery will embark on in Artsakh. Also, in the "10 million trees" initiative scopes, 100.000 saplings will be donated to "ArtsakhForest" SNCO of  the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Artsakh Republic, for afforestation and reforestation of about 30 hectares.
The specialists of "ArtsakhForest" SNCO will be given an opportunity to be trained under "ArmForest" SNCO's professional skills and technical capacities.
Also,  referred to the issue of water monitoring in the post-war period. "There is a lot to do in this direction; the capacities of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center  SNCO of the Ministry of Environment will be used in the monitoring works”.
The Minister extended a vote of thanks to  the President of the Artsakh Republic, the partners of Artsakh for the visit with a full-fledged agenda and substantive discussions.
The Minister has once again stated that there is sufficient will and political determination to fully implement the outlined projects targeted at restoring the normal life of Artsakh.
