Minister of the Environment Hakob Simidyan and Deputy Minister Aram Meimaryan, at the invitation of the founder of the ecological "My Forest Armenia" NGO Andre Gumushchyan, visited the nursery "Penzhamin Gumushchyan" of the Gugark community of Lori region.
The Minister and Deputy Minister together with colleagues from "My Forest Armenia" toured the nursery of the Jrashen organization, got acquainted with the ongoing work, planted tree species, discussed the possibilities of organizing and cooperation within the framework of programs to increase forest areas and planting in Armenia.
After visiting the nursery, the Minister toured the nursery "Penzhamin Gumushchyan", where in the alley created by the guests the first trees were planted:
Thanking for the work done, Minister Hakob Simidyan once again spoke about the importance of the idea of planting trees.
By planting trees, we strengthen our roots in our native land and show our concern for the environment," the Minister noted and once again thanked Mr. Gumushchyan for his significant contribution and exemplary activity in the forest sector.
"You not only contribute to the increase of forest territories, but also create jobs, serve as an example of how to use the benefits provided by the forest competently without harming the environment, moreover, planting trees and taking care of nature to earn money," the minister said.
We recall that the Ministry of the Environment and the "May Forrest Armenia" signed a memorandum of cooperation in which the parties will cooperate on the organization of forest restoration and afforestation, joint work on the conservation and restoration of biodiversity in forest ecosystems.
