Minister Hmabardzum Matevosyan Received International Partners

Hambardzum Matevosyan, Minister of Environment of the RA, received the delegation of the United Arab Emirates. The delegation included Nariman Al-Mulla, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Armenia, Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council and former Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the UAE, as well as Samvel Movsisyan, founder of the Leadership School.
The parties discussed opportunities for expanding and deepening cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of environmental protection, climate change, education, and sustainable development.
During the meeting, the sides also addressed issues related to improving waste management systems, introducing innovative environmental technologies, and exchanging best practices.
Special attention was paid to the preparatory process for the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity. The discussion focused on the possibilities of integrating Emirati experience to ensure effective cooperation within the framework of the Conference.
Minister Matevosyan presented the agenda of the COP17 to be organized in Armenia, highlighting its key themes aimed at the global review of environmental policy and the coordination of international decisions in favor of environmental protection and sustainable development.
