In the Republic of Armenia, in order to contribute to the protection of biodiversity, the implementation of biodiversity monitoring, the management of specially protected areas of nature, in particular, technical upgrading, raising the level of public awareness of environmental protection, the formation of ecological awareness, the development and application of tools aimed at changing the responsible attitude and behavior of society, and accepting and emphasizing.  The existence of common goals and the importance of mutual cooperation in solving the ecological problems of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the protection of nature and cultural values, the Ministry of Environment, represented by Deputy Minister Aram Meymaryan, and the Fund for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Values, represented by director Ruben Khachatryan, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The main directions of cooperation are:

• creation, protection and management of specially protected natural areas,
• implementation of biodiversity monitoring,
• conservation of fauna and flora,
• support for fire fighting measures,
• organization of ecotourism for the purpose of recognition of nature and historical and cultural monuments,
• restoration of populations of endangered species,
• implementation of human-wildlife conflict mitigation measures,
• to save wild animals living in nature, illegally kept in free and semi-free conditions, to the quarantine area, for treatment and, if possible, to release them into the wild,
• environmental education, exchange of experience and training of specialists and implementation of other activities arising from the functions and interests of the Parties.

Congratulating the partners on the signing of the memorandum, Deputy Minister Aram Meymaryan highly appreciated the huge investments of the organization in the field of nature protection, emphasized its potential and range of opportunities. The deputy minister referred to the effective cooperation already formed with the organization and noted that this memorandum makes the existing cooperation even more valid.
Speaking about the memorandum, Ruben Khachatryan, director of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Values, noted that it was preceded by long-term works and in-depth studies.
Voskehat Grigoryan, Head of the Specially Protected Areas and Biodiversity Policy Department of the Ministry of Environment, made a speech and presented the goals of the memorandum.
After the signing ceremony of the memorandum, a tour was organized for the guests of the event in the museum of "Khosrov Forest" State Reserve" located in the administrative building of the SNCO, located in the city of Vedi.
The flora and fauna of the reserve is presented in the museum.
The "Goravan Dunes" and "Khor Virap" state reserves with their typical flora and fauna are also presented.
