As part of the preparations for the COP17, a working meeting with representatives of air transport companies was held at the Ministry of Environment of the RA. Vahe Davtyan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA; Nader Ibrahim, Representative of the Secretariat of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, who is in Armenia as part of regular visit to monitor the preparatory work; Mihran Khachatryan, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee; and representatives of approximately two dozen air transport companies.
The purpose of the meeting was to address current issues related to the organization of air transportation to and from Armenia during the COP17. The discussions focused on a range of organizational and logistical matters, including operational planning of air transportation, efficient management of passenger flows, and the transportation of international delegations.
Nader Ibrahim, Representative of the Secretariat of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, emphasized the importance of cooperation with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the effective organization of the conference. He proposed conducting an inventory of the technical and operational capacities of Armenian air transport companies, which would support the implementation of clear and coordinated air transportation during the conference. The meeting concluded with confirmation of the readiness of all parties to cooperate in the successful organization of COP17 and to ensure high-quality services for participants.
