Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan met representatives of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in Armenia

Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan received Assistant Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Armenia Gayane Nasoyan and Coordinator for the technical part of the organization's programs "capacity building for improving climate activities in agriculture" and "strengthening the capacity of the government through the development of the potential of key stakeholders in Armenia in order to identify, develop and implement measures related to climate change" by Vahan Amirkhanyan.
It should be noted that Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan was nominated as the national coordinator of the programs "Strengthening the capacity to improve climate activities in agriculture" and "strengthening the capacity of the government through the development of the potential of key stakeholders in Armenia in order to identify, develop and implement climate change-related activities" implemented by FAO.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister was presented with the details of the two launching programs, as well as discussed formats for possible expansion of cooperation with the Ministry.
The Deputy Minister presented to his colleagues the priorities of the Ministry of Environment in the field of climate policy and water resources management.
The Deputy Minister discussed with his colleagues issues related to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation, noting cooperation as the main direction of development, especially in the framework of strengthening the professional capabilities of the department's employees, taking into account the Ministry's interest in setting a new bar for the implementation of sectoral programs.
The meeting also discussed the work on the formation of the delegation of the Republic of Armenia to the 27th Forum of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Deputy Minister said that the Ministry is going to actively participate in the processes.
The issues of studying successful international experience in the field of water resources management and providing technical support to programs implemented by the Ministry of Environment were also discussed.
