Employees of the groundwater monitoring service of the “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO, together with scientists from the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research in Germany and the Darmstadt Technical University, took water samples from 13 underground sources (source and well), 2 surface watercourses and the Arpa-Sevan tunnel in the Lake Sevan basin from October 12 to 14.
Samples of the water taken will be examined in the laboratories of the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research in Germany, the Technical University of Darmstadt and the MCC.
On the shoreline of Lake Sevan, from the village of Chkalovka to the village of Karchakhpyur (85 km long), work was carried out on a motor boat to identify zones of deep groundwater runoff into Lake Sevan by detecting radon gas dissolved in water.
