100,000 small fish of the "Gegharkun" type of Sevan trout were released into Lake Sevan

100,000 small fish of the "Gegharkuni" type of Sevan trout were released into Lake Sevan.
On November 16, the next batch of small fish grown at the expense of state funds by the "Sevan trout stock restoration and fishery development" fund was released into Lake Sevan.
100,000 small fish of the "Gegharkuni" type of Sevan trout with an average weight of 3.9 grams were released into Lake Sevan.
Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Governor of Gegharkunik Vahan Zaroyan, representatives of "Sevan National Park", Ministry of Environment, Gegharkunik Marzpet Office, "Prince of Sevan" PJSC took part in the environmental event.
"The current program of the Ministry of Environment also includes the policy of conservation and reproduction of Sevan trout, within the framework of which we are carrying out this event today. At the same time, the center of our attention are the problems of protecting the water and animal resources of Lake Sevan and the rivers flowing into the lake, which we are trying to solve with one common program package, with the implementation of interrelated and complementary steps," said RA Deputy Environment Minister Aram Meymaryan.
According to Tigran Vardanyan, director of "Sevani Trout" CJSC, this is the second similar event in 2023, as a result of which, in total, 230,000 small fish of the "Gegharkun" type were released into Lake Sevan.
