A regular meeting was organized in the Ministry of Environment to discuss the problems related to the disease found in the pine (forest) trees in the "Sevan" National Park.
The meeting was attended by professional divisions of the Ministry, "Sevan" National Park, "Hayantar" SNOC, "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" SNCO, Gegharkunik Regional Center of the Food Safety Inspection Authority, Gegharkunik Regional Head Office, National Agrarian University of Armenia, National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, representatives of the Institute of Botany named after Takhtajyan, the Laboratory of Entomology and Soil Zoology of the Zoology and Hydroecology Scientific Center of the National Academy of Sciences, "Sustainable Forest Management" NGO.
Trees infected with the disease wither without signs of weakening, resulting in tree fall, disruption of the connectivity of tree foliage, turning into a sparse forest.
Along with these processes, the normal regrowth of pine trees is also disrupted in these centers.
During the meeting, the current situation was presented, in particular, the list of assessment of the trees withered as a result of the disease in the territory of "Sevan" National Park.
Representatives of the National Academy of Sciences announced that the results of the laboratory examination sent to the Russian Federation in the summer will be received at the end of November.
At the end of the discussion, the further tasks of the working group were determined.
