The start of a crucial stage in the field of environmental protection for the Republic of Armenia has been given: the official logo of COP17 has been unveiled.
The Yerevan blue butterfly, a Red Book endemic species typical of the Armenian highlands, was chosen as the basis for the emblem.
The visual identity of COP17 is formed around the idea of the butterfly's life cycle: egg, larva, pupa and adult, which symbolizes the continuity, diversity and recovery capacity of natural systems.
The butterfly's outline is made up of 23 colors that correspond to the goals of the Kunming-Montreal Global Framework for Biodiversity, as well as one main blue color, symbolizing the identity of the butterfly.
The color structure emphasizes the main direction of the conference: to ensure the sustainability and vitality of nature through actions.
The slogan of COP17, " Taking action for nature," reflects the focus of current environmental policy, calling for a shift from initiatives to targeted and coordinated action.
