A conference on “Gender-Responsive and Socially Inclusive Dimensions for the 3rd Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0) of the Republic of Armenia under the Paris Agreement” with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.
As part of the event, participants toured the Green Training Center, where they were introduced to promising climate-resilient technologies currently applied in the agricultural sector, which contribute to sustainable development and the reduction of environmental impacts.
The aim of the workshop was to present and discuss the findings of the study “Improving the Gender-Responsive and Socially Inclusive Dimensions of the NDC 3.0” with stakeholders from the agricultural sector. During the discussion, participants emphasized the importance of integrating gender equality and social inclusion principles into the development and implementation of climate policies. Such initiatives promote the exchange of experience among stakeholders and the formulation of recommendations for further programmatic improvements.
It should be noted that in 2021, the Government of Armenia approved the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) of the Republic of Armenia for 2021–2030 under the Paris Agreement. This document sets a target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030 compared to 1990.
