CLARIFICATION

In response to the Facebook post of "Environmentalist’s House" public initiative on "One of our groups supervising inspections detected a great deal of illegal cutting of trees in the third unit of Haghartsin district of “Dilijan” national park”.
We would like to inform you that following the above-mentioned publication, the workers of Tavush Territorial Division of the RA  Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Mineral Resources and  “Dilijan” National Park executed inspections in the third unit of Haghartsin district of “Dilijan” national park, as a result of which it turned out that during the months of October-November 2020, branches of 5-10 m high, 4-52 cm in diameter, a total of 6 cubic meters, branches and twigs of 13 different tree species (of which 9 hornbeam trees, 3 oak trees and 1 ash tree) were illegally cut down.
The information mentioned in the next publication: "We have just found more than 30 trees cut down. Almost 100 trees in two days ... " also does not correspond to the reality, as that quantity of branches and twigs were cut down, not trees.
Note that the branches of illegally cut trees can not have a significant impact on the further growth and development of tree species.
We inform, that a part of the illegally cut timber was found, a relevant report was composed and sent to Tavush Territorial Division of the RA Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Mineral Resources
We extend a vote of thanks to  "Environmentalist’s House" public initiative for caring attitude.
Each worker of “Dilijan” NP conscientiously performs his / her tasks.
Forest is a vital component of the environment that requires special treatment.
