We thank you for raising concerns about air quality in Yerevan.
In the Republic of Armenia, air quality monitoring is conducted by the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center of the Ministry of Environment. According to official data, occasional exceedances of permissible concentrations particularly for dust and nitrogen dioxide are observed in Yerevan; however, these do not indicate continuous or severe pollution. Based on these official measurements, it is incorrect to state that Yerevan has the worst air quality in the region. It is important to note that certain online platforms disseminate figures not derived from the official national monitoring system. Such information should not be considered authoritative or used for comparative assessments.
The Ministry of Environment encourages the public and partners to rely exclusively on official data.
