Today, the Board of Trustees of the "Foundation for Restoration of Sevan Trout Stocks and Aquaculture Development " convened under the chairmanship of Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan.
Karen Sargsyan, Governor of Gegharkunik Province; Aram Meymaryan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA; Sergo Atanesyan, General Secretary of the Ministry; Ara Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Environment of the RA as well as representatives of interested departments, including members of the Board, participated in the meeting.
Minister Matevosyan, as Chairman of the Board, recalled that he had previously led the work of the Fund in his capacity as Deputy Prime Minister and was well acquainted with the challenges it faced. Accordingly, the session focused on addressing these issues and defining the Fund’s rehabilitation agenda.
As a result of the discussions, concrete decisions were adopted to address the accumulated challenges and ensure the effective operation of the Fund. Minister Matevosyan emphasized that the restoration of Sevan trout stocks is a priority for biodiversity conservation and ecological balance. He noted that this issue is of not only environmental, but also strategic importance for the stability of the Sevan ecosystem and the development of aquaculture.
