A protocol was signed as a result of the Armenian-Iranian high-level preparatory meeting and monitoring activities.
In addition to the agreements reached at the 17th session of the Armenian-realistic intergovernmental joint commission held on May 10-12, 2022, and in the direction of the implementation of points 3.2-3.6 of the "Water and Environment" section of the memorandum of understanding of the aforementioned commission. On November 15-16, a joint meeting was held in Yerevan under the leadership of Tigran Gabrielyan, Deputy Minister of Environment, and Iraj Heshmati, Deputy Director of Environmental Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the session, the parties:
discussed and jointly presented the road map for the implementation of the Araks border river conservation works,
discussed and approved the annual plan for the joint monitoring of the water quality of the Araks border river,
The bilateral cooperation of the monitoring Armenian-Iranian working group for the study of the Araks border river has been restored in order to ensure the water quality of the Araks border river in the long term.
the mechanisms of joint assessment of water quality of Araks River were discussed.
As a result of the session, the parties signed a Protocol.
