Improvement works are constantly being carried out in the arboretum "Soranner" of the National Park "Nature Reserve and Park Complex" of the Ministry of the Environment.
The Berd Arboretum "Soranner" was founded in 1962 in the Mountain-Meadow landscape of the Southern Height of the city of Berd, Tavush region. It covers an area of 62.17 hectares.
About 143 types of wood species were imported from different regions of Armenia and from abroad. The dendroflora of the arboretum consists of 110 species of trees belonging to 73 genera of about 30 families.
The western thuja, common fir, silver thorn fir, virginian juniper, evergreen cypress, Himalayan cedar, Crimean pine, small-leaved lychee and other species are especially well adapted to the local climatic conditions.
