Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meymaryan received Karl Amirgulashfil

Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meymaryan met Karl Amirgulashfil, head of the Department of Biodiversity and Forests of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, who arrived in Yerevan on a working visit to participate in the conference of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
During the meeting, the issues of environmental protection between the two countries, particularly the protection of biodiversity, the possibilities of creating interstate geoparks were discussed.
The issue of the membership of the Republic of Armenia in the International Union for Conservation of Nature was also discussed, as well as a wide range of issues related to the scope of environmental conventions.
As a result, the parties reached an agreement to activate interstate cooperation and initiate common programs aimed at protecting biodiversity and ecosystems in the region.
