Activities aimed at the study and conservation of birds of prey in Armenia continue

In cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and the German Nature Conservation Union (NABU), measures aimed at the study and protection of birds of prey in Armenia continue.
Another event carried out within the framework of the program of the same name was the marking of young vipers by placing a satellite sensor on them. By installing a satellite sensor, it becomes possible to study the local and migratory movements of the species in order to implement more manageable conservation.
The program "Research and conservation of birds of prey in Armenia" has been implemented since 2018. The purpose of the project is to study the nesting sites of raptor species nesting in the territory of Armenia, to evaluate the annual nesting success, to study the threats to the nesting sites and to propose preventive solutions, to carry out annual census work, to study the nest, etc.
Since 2021, 5 vultures and 2 bearded vultures have been recorded.
NABU has been operating in the Republic of Armenia since 2001. To date, a number of projects aimed at preserving Armenia's biodiversity have been implemented together with the Ministry of Environment, and in 2007, a cooperation agreement was signed with the Ministry. In November 2010, the official branch of the German Nature Conservation Society was opened in Armenia.
