The competition is initiated within the scope of the Global Clean Technology Innovations for SMEs project financed by Global Environment Facility /GEF/ andUnited Nations Industrial Development Organization/UNIDO/. The project is aimed at the Global Clean Technology Innovations for SMEs project in Armenia and fostering clean technology innovations, as well as strengthening the policy.
The Programme’s government partners are the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Nature Protection, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The competition is open to all those who are residents of Armenia and have cleantech business ideas or prototypes and products in one of the following categories:
- Energy Efficiency
- Waste to Energy
- Renewable Energy
- Water Efficiency
The ideas will be considered by a special commission, and shortlisted 25 semifinalists will continue the competition participating in
- A 3-day intensive business training
- Thematic courses (marketing, business management, sell, goods/technology assessment)
- Individual work with mentors and trainers
- Turn business ideas into feasible business models
- Initial presentation of business models and consideration by the Panel of independent judges
Final phase
The participants will present their business models to the judges on October 9-10. The best 4 business models will be awarded USD 10,000. Additionally, the Winner will participate in the Cleantech Open Annual Global Business Forum in Silicon Valley. This year the program will also grant female participants USD 2.000.
