Developed new projects of cooperation with JICA

In the course of the meeting with Resident Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Georgia Yukihiko Ejiri, Minister of Environment Erik Grigoryan discussed the issues related to the expansion of the cooperation within the framework of Green Climate Fund and Minamata Convention. As Head of JICA Project Coordination Office in Armenia, Yukihiko Ejiri presented the drafts of projects addressed to enhancing the level of preservation and capacity-building of specially protected areas of nature (SPAs), as well as recycling of mercury-containing wastes. The sides agreed on deepening the cooperation in the sphere of environmental protection and in its context, embarking on other joint projects.
