At the invitation of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), RA Deputy Minister of Nature Protection Khachik Hakobyan participated in the annual meeting of the Green Action Programme Task Force, held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.   The meeting focused on the issues related to infrastructure investment and the low-carbon transition, strengthening water management and increasing productivity of key sectors (including agriculture) as well as information exchange on envisaged activities. Additionally, education, communication and public awareness for Green Growth were considered. At the meeting Kh. Hakobyan reported on progress in implementing the works with reference to the above mentioned issues in Armenia and presented information over the implementation status of the responsabilities undertaken by Armenia within the framework of Batumi Initiative on Green Economy (BIG-E) organized by the UNECE. The meeting also took a note of the issues on institutional capacity for cross-Ministerial policy coordination for Green Growth and budget report. At the end of the meeting an agreement was reached on holding 2018 conference of the parties in Slovenia.
